To have the military free to roam over private property without permission from landowners is a dangerous business in Texas. Someone is likely to be shot by mistake.

There is NO legitimate need for this exercise.

If the Pentagon wants to run such an operation, do it in the border towns of Mexico. Really....

Cruz got everyone on record... that’s the way to deal with it. If they’re up to no good, Cruz has just make it harder for them.

Plan for the worst - hope for the best...

As for Cruz seeming to just smooth over this so-called conspiracy theory...... perhaps this is just his way to saying, I see the possibility here and I am watching, and as President, I’ll be on guard for this kind of stuff.

From Wiki:

On May 2, 2015, Republican presidential candidate and Texas senator Ted Cruz said he had "reached out to The Pentagon to inquire about this exercise." In comments to Bloomberg News at the South Carolina Republican Party's annual convention, he said, "We are assured it is a military training exercise.

I have no reason to doubt those assurances, but I understand the reason for concern and uncertainty, because when the federal government has not demonstrated itself to be trustworthy in this administration, the natural consequence is that many citizens don't trust what it is saying."
