I remember some show on PBS with journalists where Peter Jennings basically said in covering a war he would be non-partisan, even if he saw US troops heading into an ambush he’d just film it.

Oh yes. Peter Jennings and his 'enlightened' ilk are far too above all that outdated, old fashioned jingoism. Patriotism is just so...passe to them.

That type considers themselves to be 'citizens of the world', whatever the hell that means, but if their very lives were threatened by war, you can bet your ass they'd be looking for the first Marine they could hide behind.
