Any advice on getting in on the ground floor?
I would use "3D printers" as a search term and start researching from there.
I compare this to around 1980 when personal computers were just starting to move beyond hobbyists and geeks. Most people still scoffed at the idea that average people would want to have a personal computer at home. They still saw computers as room sized machines operated by men in white coats. But for those who saw the applications and the potential of a home computer, they were amply rewarded.
Mr Adams comparison to early 1980’s PC market is well founded.
IMHO: HP, Epson, and other breakthru innovative 3D Printing companies are a worthy of further investment research and consideration.
In addition, try to get a hold of the following article’s 3D printing conference speakers list (noting what company’s they are affiliated with), and view the latest Gartner Magic Quadrant analysis of 3D Printing companies.
