Many faculty think that the Democrats are their friends, and will keep the federal dollars rolling in (e.g. grants etc.). Ironically, federal funding for research took a big hit after Bush left office. What faculty don’t understand is that if the economy takes a hit, so does the federal budget, and thus so does their federal funding.
I’ve become demoralized and progressively cynical about how the world runs. I just don’t believe anymore that many people in the world are guided by principle. Self interest is the guiding principle.
You are like me then. I;m fed up of the all about me attitude where people will use vendetta’s, lies, and cheat to get their way. I’m fed up of the feely good types where even on FOX just now they showed a woman soldier falling down on a fitness test but got up and struggled.
Hasslebank and others were all saying how can you top that, how great this woman was.
Well having been in a combat unit that now means I would have to get two guys to pick her up and carry her kit because she is struggling thus it put more lives in danger.
Still at least the FOX hosts feel good without having any experience what dangers she brings.
