That is so the flow of information can be appropriately filtered for the masses.

I recall listening to the Sandy Hook attack via several localized streaming video feeds. Initially, the 'reports' and information were coming from local reporters on the scene. After about a hour or so, I noticed the reporting took a different tone: "The FBI is reporting that ..." Later, another obvious change occurred: "The White House is reporting that ..."

A somewhat similar scenario took place with the Murrah Builing bombing in Oklahoma City.

I have it on good authority that the order to arrest Richard Jewell or the 1996 Olympic bombing came directly from the White House...and Bill Clinton himself.

When politics intrudes on law enforcement, no good can come of it. See the Murrah Building, TWA 800, Centennial Park, Sandy Hook, Trayvon Martin, Ferguson, Baltimore, etc.

Hmmm, do I detect a partisan political pattern there...???
