I think the General is dangerously wrong.
The fact that Putin disappears like that for his face-work would suggest he is exactly the kind of narcissist that would fire a nuke. When Russia falls apart it is not like Putin will man up and own it...

It strikes me that a self obsessed leader like Putin might take the world with him if he found he had a terminal illness. The other side of the coin, however, is that he identifies so much with Russia that he wouldn’t want to be the cause of its destruction.
