Pope Francis’ closest cardinal advisor on Tuesday blasted “movements in the United States” hostile to the pontiff’s forthcoming document on the environment, claiming the criticism is fueled by a form of capitalism protecting its own interests.

“The ideology surrounding environmental issues is too tied to a capitalism that doesn’t want to stop ruining the environment because they don’t want to give up their profits,” said Cardinal Oscar Rodríguez Maradiaga.

Pope Francis, in true Latin American tradition, is an afficionado of, if not an adherent to, Liberation Theology; basically marxism with a frock.

Environmental Theology is Liberation Theology’s ugly twin sister,

Is Pope Francis so stupid that he cannot INDEPENDENTLY think to ask: Is the Earth getting warmer or cooler?

Bergoglio, as Abp. of Buenos Aires, sent “conservatives” out to the boonies and kept the lefty priests in his inner circle. He is not “open-minded” and “humble.” It’s prolefeed. He likes to hear his lefty views reinforced.

That's right, pope. We're nothing but a pack of capitalist running dogs, aren't we?

Soviet Union? Yeah, Chernobyl, I know.. But what about CHINA? They are the world's WORST violators of environmental safety!!

“The ideology surrounding environmental issues is too tied to a capitalism that doesn’t want to stop ruining the environment because they don’t want to give up their profits,”

WOW! Oscar accidentally disclosed the MOTIVE behind the 'man-caused global warming' HOAX and the TRUE AGENDA of all environmental groups. Nice work, Oscar!

I cannot believe how far the Vatican has gone off the rails. Jesus would be appalled at this behavior!

Capitalism is still under attack, because it is TOO efficient in raising the standard of living for those who participate in and support its objectives. But capitalism is just the human adaptation of growth as it takes place in nature, in the life cycle of plants, and the expansion of various species of animals.

Capitalism neither causes excessive pollution nor acts to cure any of its effects. What capitalism does is monetize the conversion of substances from raw materials (or waste of some kind) and convert it into new and useful products or services, which may then be exchanged for other goods or services, to the mutual benefit of both parties.

What is commonly called “pollution” is just an underutilized raw material, and with applied technology, even what are considered to be serious hazards to health and safety may be converted to a new use or integrated into the formulation of more new and useful products. It all just has to be put on a paying basis, and boy, will “pollution” ever get cleaned up quickly.

Of course, because human beings do not have prescience or total knowledge of every effect of technology as it develops, some collateral effects, occasionally very damaging, may become apparent, but once identified, corrective action may be taken to control or reverse the collateral damage. Keeps the rust shined off the cognitive capabilities of those who are in position to profit from the fruits of capitalism.

Dear Cardinal Oscar Rodríguez Maradiaga,

Please tell me where and how the U.S. is “destroying the environment”?

Please refrain from any scientifically unsupportable references to “manmade global warming” or manmade climate change”.

You may want to check on the level of environmental destruction in countries suffering under Socialism, Communism, or Dictatorships.
