If he had any savvy, he would have said Thats a very understandable question and something Ive given a lot of thought to and... then debunk her question and assumptions with some well thought-out responses. He could have used Free Republic to help him prep for his answers in advance if his advisors didn’t have them.

Frankly her questions weren’t understandable at all.
They was based on beliefs that weren’t true. You can’t say the questions are understandable if thy aren’t based on reality.
They are not understandable at all, and here are the reasons why...
While I do believe Bush looked frustrated waiting for an opening to respond, I don’t think he looked foolish.
If you interrupt you’re accused of mistreating her.
If you say her premises are all false, you get accused of being dismissive.
If you lecture her about what the real situation was, once again you’re guilty of talking down to her.
And if you explain that Iraqis were not a part of the formulation of ISIS, she’s simply going to state oh yes they were, and the media will play only that sound byte.
Please link me to where the issue of Isis being formed out of former Iraqi troops is discussed on the forum. I’d like to review those talking points.
