Is Jeb Bush Forsaking Iowa? Some Republicans Hope Not
New York Times ^ | May 15 2015 | Trip Gabriel

When Jeb Bush’s lone staff member in Iowa, Annie Kelly, telephoned Sherill Whisenand, a chairwoman of the Polk County G.O.P. recently, she got an earful.

“I told her straight up, I was curious why this was the first contact made to me and it’s already April,” said Ms. Whisenand, who worked for President George Bush’s campaigns in Iowa during the 1980s. “I said, ‘I’m part of the original Bush brigade and I haven’t had any contact with anybody.’”

As Jeb Bush arrives in Iowa on Saturday for only his second visit of the year, his supporters are well aware of his efforts all week to escape the shadow of his brother George W. Bush’s decision to invade Iraq.

But they are worried the younger Mr. Bush is ignoring an altogether different family legacy: both his brother and his father’s playbook for winning the Iowa caucuses by campaigning early and often in the state.

Veterans of earlier Bush campaigns in Iowa like Ms. Whisenand have taken to privately complaining to one another that Jeb Bush has been slow to enlist their help.

Signals from Mr. Bush’s camp that it plans only a light Iowa footprint are causing waves of anxiety for his supporters here, as they worry that Mr. Bush may lose his chance to climb out of the hole he currently inhabits in state polls.

Ms. Whisenand said Ms. Kelly apologized that she was “the only person on board” with Jeb Bush in Iowa...

Wow, Jeb has decided to try the Rudy Guilianni method of running for President. You don’t need those “hicks” in Iowa; just, start your campaign in Florida. Worked real well for Rudy, didn’t it.

The Bushes have never fared well in the Hawkeye Cauci, so not surprised that Jeb is writing it off.
He can likely count on winning in ever more liberal NH. Especially with no competitive rat race, the rats will flood the open primary.
Then in SC, Jeb has enlisted Grahamnesty to prevent whichever Conservative wins in Iowa from also taking SC.
Which brings us to Jeb’s home state where he is assuming a big win with Florida’s treasure trove of delegates. At that point in the race Jeb would have a big lead in the delegate count along with a huge monetary advantage. With these advantages - along with help from Ted Baxter and all the other RINOS at Faux News - Jeb can see himself coasting to victory.
