Liberals in Israel are like liberals anywhere — loud, blissfully confident in their faux superiority, lots of time on their hands (due to not having children/jobs), and urban.
Ergo, travelers see them first.
But, yes, Israel has plenty of liberal/secular people. A strong plurality, made bigger by the international left.
But the conservatives win the elections.
I peruse the Democrat Underground on occasion.
Antisemitism is the norm. It’s not just tolerated, but encouraged.
By some odd coincidences in my life, I get emails and texts from a few yeshiva bochers and young rabbis who sometimes lurk on FR and DU. While they are dismayed sometimes by Jew-hate on FR, they confess that DU frequently makes them almost physically ill, which is made worse because they realize DU represents people who are actually in power in the government.

It does happen on FR, but the posters are shouted down, banned, and humiliated.
At the DU, however, the antisemites are moderators and have their own sub-forum.
