Pamela Geller Confronted Evil, so the Left Hates Her
NRO ^ | Dennia Prager

Pamela Geller — the woman whose group, the American Freedom Defense Initiative, organized the Muhammad-cartoon drawing contest in Garland, Texas — may be the most hated person in America right now. She is certainly the Left’s chief villain; and, sad to say, though few conservatives hate her, more than a few have condemned her.

The question is why? Here are three reasons.

Reason One: The Left Hates Those Who Confront Evil

The first and most important reason is a rule of life that I wrote about in a recent column explaining the Left’s hatred for Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu:

Those who don’t fight evil hate those who do.

This is a defining characteristic of the American Left. That is why the Left loathed President Ronald Reagan for labeling the Soviet Union an “evil empire”: He judged and confronted Communism, the greatest evil in the world after World War II.

Today, the world’s greatest evil is Islamism (the movement to impose Islam and its sharia on society). Just as the Left loathed anti-Communists, it loathes anti-Islamists, chief among whom is Netanyahu, the prime minister of the country that the Islamists most hate, the country that most confronts violent Islam — and not coincidentally the country the international Left most hates.

What the left hates is “absolute” truth. They need situational ethics and embrace the phrase “that’s your truth”. They don’t realize that it neuters them to fight against only one thing: Any proclamation that a particular truth is “absolute”.

They don’t grasp that this creates an “anything goes” world that is very dangerous to everyone.

Then by implication, the Left EMBRACES evil in nearly all its forms. This is to provide themselves with a contrasting background, a canvas on which they may paint whatever fanciful imagery that occurs to them at the moment, and with this garish display, they have something to point to, and say “Ain’t it awful?”

Also, upon this screen, they may project their (pseudo) objections, and claim that “Everybody does it!”, which translates as “So it can’t be so bad, can it?”

Unless, of course, you are the one doing the “bad thing”, and not them, and therefore you must be shamed for it.

The left is evil so naturally the left loves evil.
Which, of course, explains the leftist love of islam.
Therefore the left must hate Pamela Geller.

The left hates heroes. A hero demonstrates the importance of a single person making big things happen. A hero is an individual -- as opposed to a group, or a tribe, or a "people." A hero defies victimhood, undermining the left's entire world view.

There are big and great things that are publicly glorified as heroism. We can all be awed by mighty acts of courage and will that can move great forces in the world. Such people and such feats are important to history, and inspire us to live according to the best within us.

But in everybody's life there are countless choices, conflicts, and opportunities that require courage, integrity, a willingness to face hard truths, make difficult decisions that might have big consequences, and take action that you would rather not have to take.

Ronald Reagan saw the heroic in ordinary Americans. That is one of the things that I loved about him as a president, for everywhere he looked in America, he saw ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

I think the left's hatred for Ms Geller derives from two factors. First, she creates in them a cognitive dysfunction, a collision between their hatred of this country because of their feminism and commitment to gay "rights," and their commitment to multiculturalism (which also emanates from their hatred of this country). Their eagerness to simultaneously hold these two sets of beliefs means they must ignore the fact that radical Islam is an existential threat to the first set.

Second, she is very well-spoken, no shrinking violet, and can handle herself on television against representatives of both the left and radical Islam. So she is able to make plain this insincerity in the left's view of the world.

Had a recent amusing interaction with a libinlaw concerning the whole “gay” issue.
She said, and I quote, “It’s not a sin, except in the bible!”

Hmmm... I never got an answer as to where else “sin” would be defined.

Barry defined sin as “being out of alignment with my values” - so I guess HE defines right and wrong.

That is the atheist viewpoint. If you are atheist, you are god. There is a Dean Koontz book called, “From the Corner of His Eye” that chronicles the adult life of a “true” atheist and his thought process.

The person is a very “nice” and presentable guy, except when he isn’t. His coldness, from the third page of the book on, makes you shudder.

Whenever I hear people say certain things are not bad and should be ok because they have no negative consequences (e.g. same sex marriage), I remember this Twilight Zone episode:

Liberals have picked sides on the war against Islamic terror and they always chose our enemy in any war. Since they have chosen Islam as their “hero”, anyone who messes with Islam is their enemy. Like Israel. Like Geller. Like Bauchman.
It does not help that Geller is an uppity Jewish woman.

As far as the few “conservatives” who denounced Geller, they are just plain stupid. They have no idea of what game Islam is playing in the West.

According to the Left, the only evil in the world is that of conservatives; therefore Pamela Geller is either a hated conservative or she quite simply doesn’t exist.
