Batons or billy clubs should be reinstated and used liberally.
A subject being arrested has no right to resist. To the contrary it is not legal to resist. To resist is to break the law.
To resist strenuously, as is very common, is to endanger the arresting officer or officers. A good whack or two with the baton would reduce the resistance and a forceful whack would reduce continued strong resistance.
Tasers are able to end the resistance but are expensive. The subject has no right to force expenditure when a good whack with a baton that costs nothing accomplishes the same objective.
