I did NOT see any of this FReeper support for Roman Polanski the other year when Swiss authorities put him on house arrest.

Nobody here cut Lena Dunham any slack either when she admitted to doing basically the same thing that Josh Duggar did.

I actually have more contempt for Duggar. At least Polanski and Dunham aren't running around championing themselves as family values Christians as the public face for the FRC.

Stepping back and looking at the bigger picture, I think it's bizarre that a person running for POTUS would willingly inject themselves into this sordid news story. Mike Huckabee had a reputation while Governor of Arkansas for the frequent misapplication of forgiveness to the detriment of society. It makes no sense to reinforce that image among Republican voters today and provide detractors with another possible example. It makes one doubt that Huckabee is a serious candidate and has other motives for running.

Yes, the Duggars clearly have fame higher on their priority list than safety for their daughters. They are bad parents for that alone. First, protect your children from harm. They failed.

Note that I am not blaming them for his acts outright, just for not removing him from the house when they first learned. I also blame them for not reporting him to officials or psychologists with reporting rules. They don’t seem to have a clue how utterly wrong child molestation is!
