The war is just beginning. Gay rights groups are crowing over this and they’ll take the fight to other Catholic nations such as the Philippines, Mexico, and elsewhere around the globe.

You can more or less scratch Mexico off that list.

“In Mexico, only civil marriages are recognized by the law, and all its proceedings fall under state legislation. Same-sex marriage is legally performed in Mexico City and in the states of Quintana Roo and Coahuila, but explicitly banned in the state of Yucatán (although the prohibition is limited to its performance within state boundaries, not its recognition, and it is still being challenged in the Mexican courts). In addition, same-sex couples have been able to marry in individual cases in Aguascalientes, Baja California, Baja California Sur, Campeche, Chiapas, Chihuahua, Colima, Durango, Guanajuato, Jalisco, State of Mexico, Michoacán, Morelos, Nayarit, Nuevo León, Oaxaca, Querétaro, San Luis Potosí, Sinaloa, Sonora, Tabasco, Veracruz, and Yucatán. Same-sex civil unions are legally performed in Mexico City and in the states of Coahuila, Colima, Jalisco, and Campeche. Since August 2010, same-sex marriages performed within Mexico are recognized by the 31 states without exception, and fundamental spousal rights (such as alimony payments, inheritance rights, and the coverage of spouses by the federal social security system) also apply to same-sex couples across the country.”

Mexico is an anti-clerical country and has been for a century.

Get all the fools on your side, and you’ll have the majority in any town.

Critical thinking is a rare and largely unpracticed art form. And those who do practice it, often start with very faulty premises.

Now even a false premise can eventually be thought through, as it fails to square with reality on more and more facets, and the intelligent response is to discard the false premise, and reformulate the thesis.

There is a reason that “gay marriage’ was not adopted ten years ago, or a hundred, or a thousand, or ten thousand years ago. It does not work, and is concerned only with decimating the current population on the planet.

Odd strategy. When it works in Saudi Arabia, I may then be persuaded of its value.

The Irish may have an excuse - many of them were probably drunk when they voted.

Fax “marriage” will never pass a vote in Mexico or the PI, or any other country that has a strong Catholic presence. And by that I mean Mass-attending Catholics. It passed in Ireland because BOTH POLITICAL parties are as liberal as the day is long and both wanted fag “marriage”. The Catholic Church has been dying for years in Ireland and this vote puts the final nail in the coffin. The homosexual priests scandal certainly helped to speed things along. No other country in the world epitomizes the timeless quote from Pope Pius V as Ireland epitomizes it. “All the evil in the world is due to lukewarm Catholics”. Sad, but true.
