It took me a LONG time to find this website and specific information, but here it is. Free Republic has always given me knowledge I can't find anywhere else. Thought I'd share back a little. This shows the YTD rainfall levels for Texas counties (South Central). You can also click on the right data link and get normal rainfall totals and then look at the present totals for a comparison.

At least this afternoon we had a nice break of sunny weather, but the rain is back tomorrow, the Trinity River is cresting right at 40 feet which is “major flood stage.”
I used to date a real cutie from San Marcos. I would never have guessed it would be flooded although there is a river flowing through the campus.
As I look at the standing water all around the ranch, and hear about the flooding and damage near and far, I’m thankful that this is slightly better than the fires near Bastrop and NW of Houston a few years back.
But we sure could use a few dry weeks.
Looks like we’ve had about 45 inches in Williamson county.
I think it was 5 or 6 years ago we had pretty much the same thing — about 40 days of rain.
Folks that have been here forever say that “Every drought end with a flood.” and it’s been a real turd floater the past couple of days.
I heard on the news yesterday that El Nino is starting up again, so it should be a wetter and milder summer than the past couple of years. I forget whether it was 60 or 90 days of 100+ temperatures last summer.
More proof of global warming.
In Bossier/Caddo Parishes, while still in the flood plain, the Red is over the banks. Bayous Dorcheat, and Bistineau are likewise too treacherous to fish. Swift waters, and the water is tall enough to have tree branches scrape you outta your pirogue.
Never Fear once the Lakes are full the EPA will make us drain them back to 25-30% full, you know “normal levels”
On the other side of this coin... my goodness I’m anemic... skeeters won’t leave till they all get their pint of blood and “Deep Woods Off” for all of it’s women attracting pheromone cologne qualities (dang near good as Hops #9) does very little to dissuade the lil vampires and it is too windy to commercially spray to kill them and just about every yard for miles in any direction is a 4” to 6” deep mosquito Farm ... fun fun fun.
I’m going fishing again tomorrow ... may get beat up and even more sun burnt but I won’t be slapping skeeters.
And there is more Rain on the way (In South Texas it is a Sin to complain about getting Rain), I am complaining about Mosquitoes and all of the days of work I may lose because I have to go fishing to be rid of them.

Canyon Lake (Comal County) was at 899’ just two weeks ago. Most ramps were closed, due to low lake level. Normal level is 909’.
It’s gone up over 10’, since yesterday. It’s now at 918.84. Almost 20’, in 2 weeks.

Normal weather now calls for about 4 months of being dry as a bone for Comal
I like to Fish Choke Canyon, but it appears it is just back to where it was last year at this time... my guide says that the water is ROLLING IN but not near enough to fill it, but in the end, it will have more water than last year.

Well, they aren’t letting water out too fast, at the Canyon dam. Probably because everything below it is saturated, as well.
