The idea of an “out of control police state” is somewhat of an oxymoron. The police are merely the tip of the spear of an out of control government. When politicians can argue both sides of any issue (Need for tough enforcement, revenue and condemn violent police overreaction.); you have a frightened populous and happy politicians.
When the government behaves as if they are merely tolerated by the “public” may be replaced on any given day; we have the right amount of government.
It’s not the politicians who are the problem ... it’s the people they govern. I suspect most people are perfectly content to live in this police state.
