If the victims want to speak out, or are allowed by the family powers to do so, now would be the time. It would shatter their family if it isn’t shattered already by these revelations. Because what we have here are some adults motivated by fame and fortune to portray themselves as better than others while hiding their molester son and making his victims live with him and do tasks for him.
Sadly, the anti-Christian culture will use this as more “proof” that Christianity is evil with good frosting over it. Christians need to learn from Jews who have been taught by our rabbis for centuries to be very careful to stay humble and not give Gentiles the impression we believe we are holier than thou. This family did exactly the wrong thing by going on TV. Now they have badly hurt the PR of CHristianity, at a time when the religion could use some good press.
The family thought that this show would be good for their sexual predator son?? Or great for keeping all the victims stuck and quiet inside their awful memories (or trapped in abuse, if it had continued)? The exact opposite of safety and openness. Nope, they just wanted money and fame. Nothing Christian about that. They just wore the cloak.
The core of the issue. Hypocrisy. Both from the Duggars and their defenders.
I was merely pointing out the lefts hypocrisies....Roman Polanski is just one of many they give passes to. For them to show such gasp at one molester while showering a much worse offender with accolades is quite telling and not that surprising!!!
Well that isn’t their fault. Its their parents’ fault.
And I pointed out what I pointed out because I think there is ample hypocrisy on both sides of the issue. None of which is relevant to what happened and the seriousness thereof.
Everybody does it is not a defense.

Somebody did it worse is also not a defense.
Where are you getting the information that one of victims was four? Nothing I've read online indicates that.
AND, NEVER SAID WHAT HE DID WAS OKAY. You're SOB for implying I did. He was a troubled teen. I'm saying there difference between children that molest and adults. Most children don't molest again. Many children don't molest for sexual reasons. That is why the courts and most states treat children differently than adults that engage in such behavior.
Of course, there is a difference to anyone with half a brain. The courts and most states recognize the difference and deal with children differently.
You see no difference between a 15 year old and a 43 year old ...really!!! No difference in admitting what you did and fleeing to France. No difference to coming down hard on one and giving a major award to another....Really!!!
As a means of justifying the behavior of the Duggars? No. They stand or fall on their own.
Please note that I am not addressing the severity or lack of consequences. Only the fallacy of attempting to justify them with Roman Polanski or Lena Dunham.
Haven’t said one thing about justifying anything.....pointing out the hypocrisy of the left...anyone who celebrated Polanski getting an award for anything has no standing when they criticize child molesters....what they say might be true but the hypocrisy is outrageous!!!
Carrie Hurd, wife of pastor Patrick Hurd of Texas, took a stand in defense of Josh Duggar over the weekend.
Responding to atheist Vyckie Garrison’s Facebook page, she equated Josh with a little kid playing doctor in spite of the fact that he was a 14-year-old kid, who molested four of his sisters between the ages of four and 12 as well as one underage family friend.
Hurd made a special note that when she was a kid, “it was often called ‘playing doctor’” and that “there was just as many girls” initiating the sexually inappropriate behaviors as boys.
Sweet Jesus, that is sickening :-(
This was not experimentation. One of Josh’s victims... HIS LITTLE SISTER... was FOUR YEARS OLD.
I don’t blame Josh as much as I blame the Duggar parents, in particular the patriarch Jim Bob. He claims to be Christian and highly moral. Jim Bob SOLD his family to TV a scant few years after the incidents, after completely failing to get real help for his son and the victims (Josh was sent to build houses with a family friend, NOT counselling — NOtHING for his daughters). He did everything he could to keep it all hush hush, the only LEO Jim Bob arranged for Josh to speak to turned out to be a child pornographer. Great :-( Oh yes, and after all this sweeping under the rug, JIM BOB AND MICHELLE KEPT JOSH IN THE SAME HOUSE AS HIS VICTIMS FOR YEARS. Can you imagine the helplessness and fear of his victims being forced to share space and have to obey the older brother who molested them? Can you?
Meanwhile, Jim Bob’s coverup has emboldened Josh to believe he did nothing wrong. Why else would Josh joke about incest on 19 Kids and Counting?

It’s clear he has no shame or repentance for his actions. Thank Jim Bob and Michelle for cultivating a child predator. And now Josh has a little daughter, with another one on the way. You bet I’m worried about them and his previous victims. Aren’t you? If not, why not? All you people nattering on about Polanski and Dunham (also disgusting and heinous) — why do the Duggars get a pass? Because they say they’re Christian? That should make them MORE accountable, not LESS!

I am actually in agreement with a lot of this but can see where strict adherence would lead to problems.
