I live on Lake Travis, and I, for one am delighted to see our lake coming back up!

There is only one natural lake in Texas, for those who do not know this. That would be Caddo Lake in SE Texas.

I grew up in Beaumont Texas, and we had many floods back then—and that was a long time ago—LOL! After the city finally installed a drainage system, I don’t think it floods much anymore.

I mentioned that fact to a fellow passenger on a recent flight to Dallas. He was from California, and marveled at the lakes surrounding DFW. I said, “Texans are a lot smarter than you think.” He had to agree with me on that.

While it is true that Caddo Lake is the one natural lake in Texas (all the others being man-made), its location would be more accurately characterized as being in Northeast Texas, I think.
