I don't get what the article is aiming for. Are we supposed to hate these people for enjoying life while the rest of the country is suffering? They aren't the ones beheading people. Is Assad a dictator? Yes, but now that we see the alternatives, he doesn't seem that bad. Should we hate them for being military age and not fighting for their country? Probably. If they had any patriotism and want their country to survive, they would be fighting. I guess they have an escape plan.
But Americans aren't dying. so whatever.
