Now standards will be lowered. These women were the lab rats if you will and now the dismantling of OUR military will begin.

"Eight of the 20 women who originally entered the school’s first co-ed class were allowed to recycle through the program after they fell out in their first go-round.”"

I'm sure they are going to keep testing them until they can pretend to get the result they want.

“were allowed to recycle through the program after they fell out in their first go-round”

There’s no “do over” in live combat........I’m afraid people are gonna die because of this, probably even some of these females.....I hope not but I wouldn’t doubt it.

Pardon ignorance as I never served, but is this normally a one-time opportunity...if you don’t make it the first time there is no second chance?

I’m surprised that the military didn’t just “deem” them to have qualified.

Lives are on the line here. There are plenty of men who aren't able to get through. Get over it ladies and find yourselves another hobby.

Females have done the same thing to our military that they did to our country in 2008. Destroy it. What will history show as the primary reason America fell? Dare we not talk about it, but the facts are the facts.

That women can actually make Ranger units more effective.

How do they do that, exactly?

This is one of those claims where, if you have to say it, it's not true.

Think about it, these were no doubt the best of the best females and no doubt given special consideration.

The leaders of the Army can’t adequately explain the purpose of Ranger School.

They are arguing with Liberals who are trained in education and know the education buzzwords.

So, we have a bunch of old guys who argue by saying, “Because I say so and because I outrank you!”. And they are arguing with people who have PhDs in education and aren’t in the military.

How many Veterans are there in Congress?

The Army has already lost this fight.

I can hardly wait until ENS G.I. Jane meets SEAL Phase one, commonly called BUD/S [Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL]. The Usual class is slightly over 100 applicants (we'll use 120 for our mythic co-ed class). Applicants are supposed to be in tip top physical condition before starting BUD/S because the physical stuff gets VERY physical on the first day.

BUD/S Phases

Phase 1 – Physical Conditioning (8 weeks)
•Running in the sand
•Swimming – up to 2 miles w/fins in the ocean
•Calisthenics
•Timed Obstacle Course
•Four-mile timed runs in boots
•Small boat seamanship
•Hydrographic surveys and creating charts
•Hell Week – Week 4 of Phase 1
•5 ½ days of continuous training
•Four hours sleep, total
•Swimming
•Running
•Enduring cold, wet, and exhaustion
•Rock Portage in Rubber Raiding Craft
•Doing 10 times what you thought possible
•TEAMWORK!

Phase 2 – Diving (8 weeks)
•Step up intensity of the physical training
•Focus on Combat Diving
•Open-Circuit (compressed air) SCUBA
•Closed-Circuit (100% oxygen) SCUBA
•Long-distance underwater dives
•Mission-focused combat swimming and diving techniques

Phase 3 – Land Warfare (9 weeks)
•Increasingly strenuous physical training
•Weapons training
•Demolitions (military explosives)
•Small unit tactics
•Patrolling techniques
•Rappelling and fast rope operations
•Marksmanship

Applicants can drop out of their own volition (Drop on Request — DOR), be setback in training due to a physical injury, be dropped due to inability to complete a training phase, or be dropped for academic reasons. Of our mythical class of 120 applicants, 35 or less will complete all three phases (25 weeks) of BUD/S and get their trident [SEAL[ badge.

Ranger training typically runs 61 days, so if 2nd LT Suzie Cupcake didn't make it through that selection, can anyone guess about SEAL training?

Train hard, fight easy.

Train pussy, get your butt whipped.

The Rangers is no place for women.

Period.

I thought the only reason special forces candidates were allowed to “recycle” was in the case of injuries, after being given time to recover.

As a woman, I’m glad they failed, and I hope that you are wrong in asserting that they will degrade the standards.

There’s only one solution: Obama will decree that they are now Navy SEALs.
