Isn’t it amazing how dogs know what they’re supposed to do?
When we moved to farm, Reno, my big male decided he didn’t want to live in the pasture anymore and would roam my yard and next door neighbors. They were an elderly couple in their 80’s and would complain that he would be leaving his land mines over there. We would always apologize and made it a habit to clean their yard twice a day. They soon csme to rely on him as he would alert them to anyone pulling in to their driveway. The husband died about a year later and shortly Reno did too. Afterwards our neighbor came over said how much he meant to them and how they could sleep better knowing Reno was on patrol.
I agree.
