Don't take the current wave of bad poll numbers for Hillary Clinton too seriously. That's the word from one of the Democratic presidential front-runner's senior advisers, pollster Joel Benenson.
Benenson told CNN that the surveys give a distorted view of Clinton's standing, which the pollster said remains rock solid. "I take all of these public polls with a certain grain of salt," he said.
He told host Wolf Blitzer Wednesday, "I don't want to debate you over your poll. You want to treat it as the gold standard. I don't think that's what it is."
Benenson's appearance on TV was a rare moment of visibility for him. He prefers to play a private role in the campaign. But his willingness to talk with CNN suggests that Clinton and her aides are concerned about reports that she is losing support and they want to counteract such perceptions.
"When any person who has been in some other role like secretary of state comes back into the fray as a candidate, you anticipate a period where once someone is in the political arena, partisans are going to go to their corners," Benenson said. He added that Clinton is "outperforming every opponent on the Democratic side and on the Republican side" in most polls.

Interesting how polls in liberals’ favor are considered accurate but one not in their favor are wrong.
