Our President won't be pleased. Ergodan is his pal. Elections are a nuisance, good thing Turkey, like Egypt, has a military.

As it happened: Turkey's ruling AKP loses majority in blow for Erdoğan
With the exception of a brief bulletin very little has been reported by MSM on this development. But it will have a profound effect in the ME particularly Syria and Russian involvement.
Erdogan was pitching the recreation of the Ottoman Great Islamic Sultinate which included Syria. That would place Turkey confronting Iran.
There had been speculation about Russia’s commitment of supporting Assad there. With this development watch for a change.
I checked. The words "Islamist" and "good sport" have never appeared together in a sentence in the English language. Their thing is conquest by the sword, and we probably ought to take them at their word.
This does have interesting implications for NATO, especially when the Kurds use their 80 seats to bargain for their own interests, and the Russians attempt to break the Turks off from that organization. Pros and cons: Turkey appears a natural fit for NATO only insofar as a bulwark against Russian naval expansion into the Mediterranean is desired. As far as religion and culture, not so much. It is likely Turkey will attempt to play the U.S. off against the Russians with this in mind. And there is always Greece lurking in the background, threatening both NATO and the EU with a closer rapprochement with Russia should their debt situation not be resolved in their favor. One is tempted to wish a pox on both their houses but unfortunately their houses are attached to ours.

“Will the Islamist accept the voters choice?”
Erdogan’s AKP is the the local branch of the Muslim Brotherhood (except they want to the ones in charge).
The Muslim Brotherhood’s attitude toward elections is “One Man, One Vote, One Time”. Once they get power, no need for further elections.
If the AKP cannot form a coalition in six weeks, the President can call another election - then suspend it for an emergency, or fix it in a straight out strong arm robbery.
If they don’t feel secure enough pull off such a highjacking, then this is really good news.
