The secret meeting where Ted Cruz argued that the right should unite behind him and [Truncated]

But as the forum got underway, it became apparent that most of the speakers hadn’t prepared themselves accordingly. In fact, five of the six candidates gave some version of the standard stump speech they offer the public, attendees said, ignoring what one described as “the elephant in the room, this idea that people want to coalesce behind one candidate.”

The lone exception was Cruz. “He was the only one who bought into that and tailored his entire speech to it,” says the attendee, who, despite working for a rival candidate, gushed that on a scale of 1 to 10, Cruz’s speech was a 14. “He was pitch-perfect. He got briefed well by his staff. He came in like a lawyer making his case, effectively saying, ‘I am the only one who can unite the movement.’ ”

“Cruz blew everyone else out of the water,” says a second attendee, a CNP organizer who has not signed on with any of the 2016 contenders. “He made the best case, I think, for conservative leaders and organizations to think strategically about working together to help propel a conservative candidate into contention. … He was savvy enough to understand what that room wanted to hear. Don’t just come and give us your conservative speech. Tell us: Why should we should support you? And tell us: What’s your plan to win?”

"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn’t make any sense at all." -- President Ronald Reagan

"It does not take a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men." - Samuel Adams

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

So favoring limited government is now somehow “the right”?

We are living in the age of insanity.

He’s correct again, of course.

Jebster or Rubio is who The Cheap Labor Express wants to see as the GOP nominee. They have spent millions buying the RNC. The only way we get a conservative nominee is to pick ONE and rally around until the last primary.

The RNC are experts at nominating designated losers.

I was all for that until Cruz enthusiastically joined with the other gopes to pass obama trade and give Hussein the power to nuclearize Iran. I am waiting for his coat to turn on Amnesty, though I suspect he would have his change of heart after the election if he were to win.

The TransPacific Partnership (SECRET) is
united behind Cruz.

Cruz betrays America and supports Obama the Undocumented
Supreme Author of SECRET laws.

The only think I don’t favor about Cruz is the fact that’s he’s a senator and not a governor or business leader. I wish he were more macho in his make up. Maybe he is. I like a young vibrant guy like Paul Ryan, but of late he’s wishy washy. I like Walker the most, BUT BUT BUT, I don’t think he can unite the party like Cruz can.

But let me ask you this? How does he around the people in the party who hate him, like McCain, and the idiot King from New York?

Ryan is not “wishy washy. He is hard core Republican McConnellite.

If Cruz cannot get someone like me to support him, he will then not be unifying the hundred million blue-collar workers like me spread throughout America who are fearful of losing their jobs and putting food on the table for their hungry children.

Stick a fork in him.

His support for ObamaTrade has finished him.

Either Cruz’s judgment or his saleability is way bad and his Iran and Trade votes moved him from my ‘he’s our guy’ list to my “another damned closet Democrat’ list.

stick a fork in him

Yeah. And add to the list that he's trying to monopolize "conservative" support in back room deals, rather than let voters decide.

I'm no longer sure that Cruz is my kind of conservative. I wish Jeff Sessions were running.

It is too early for coalescing, but that should take place.

After the results of the first debate or two might be a good time.

After the first couple of state primaries (excluding NH and IA), might be the best time.

Several southern states have moved their primaries up to March 1 or early March. That could have a signficant impact on the 2016 GOP race. If conservatives have coalesced behind one by that point, he/she could go a long way in gaining a big lead. If the conservatives stay splintered, they will hand the nomination to the GOP Elite selectee.

Get over it...Sessions isn’t running. You think this is really a back room deal? Others were there too! Think before you speak...

So, which kind of “Conservative” do you support?

Chuckled at the comments at the link.

One poster said, “Word has it Scott Walker mumbled and bumbled his way through a blah, boring, sleepiness-inducing speech.”

Others chimed in: ‘Uhh, Walker wasn’t even there.’

“I was all for that until Cruz enthusiastically joined with the other gopes to pass obama trade and give Hussein the power to nuclearize Iran.”

Neither of which have been passed along to the President for signature or voted on.

It doesn’t matter whether Hussein gets to sign them. What is at question is Cruz’s judgment and what he wants for America. It does not look good. i think if there is any chance of getting anything good in the Election it must come from someone outside of Washington. Only Tom Cotton and maybe Mike Lee seem to have shown continuing judgment and fortitude in Washington.
