....the video only shows a portion of what happened. Carter and his ex-girlfriend were arguing outside the nightclub, and the officers intervened when it appeared that Carter was forcibly pulling the woman away.....
Carter has been charged with domestic battery, resisting arrest and battery on a law enforcement officer. The officers are still working their normal beats.
"Based on witnesses and officer reports, it is clear that Carter was intoxicated, resisting officers, uncooperative and attempted to flee multiple times," Mina said. "We absolutely had an obligation to intervene in any type of altercation, especially something that might be domestic violence."

Commercial fisherman, roofers, truck drivers to name a few also face death every day without the pay and benefit package that LEO receives. I don’t put LE on a pedestal as the whole system is run as a business, not to protect and serve anything but the system of profit and retirement. There are some LEO that are dedicated for the safety of their community, and I have respect and just as much admiration as I have for the working man doing a hard and dangerous job.

I brought this up yesterday. Maybe Miami "gets it" that lawbreakers can't be allowed to bring up complaints without any discussion of what let up to it. The way the THUG (I said it, my bad) culture works is that as soon as there's the smallest opening in a brick wall, they're going to exploit it beyond all reason.
That clueless TX police chief and now the officer's lawyer engineering apologies and excuses are creating an opening. The policeman should be praised for stopping the situation from getting even worse while he was alone trying to contain chaos. Instead of conveying a police force united in defending and protecting those who follow the law, they could've put themselves in a Ferguson kind of situation.
The Rodney King cops WERE out of control. You don’t beat someone with clubs like that.
I understand he was combative and already had been tasered. But you swarm tackle him and get the cuffs on. Beating them into submission is NOT correct technique.

Words have meaning. "Amish" refers to a group of people who prefer semi-primitive living in a 19th Century style agricultural setting. I'm aware that it also serves as a euphemism for "black" on this forum ... I suggest that the use of said euphemism is a bad idea. It obscures the truth just as much as Big Media's general refusal to describe perpetrators with dark skin obscures the truth.
I am asking for honesty in discourse.
If the perp is 'black' (or "African-American" or "colored" or "of color" or "negro" or whatever), I am suggesting that it is better to say so, than it is to go along with Big Media's habit of obscuring the truth.

Gratuitious violins against detainees seems all too common. It seems to be an attempt to provide the swift Justice that the Courts don’t.
I read "Amish" on FR when the criminal is black or Muslim, but that is not mentioned in the article. It's not that we are too PC to say "black", it's making fun of the media's refusal to describe criminals if they are members of protected groups.
I agree, the “amish” thing stopped being funny a long time ago. There is no more “wink wink, nudge nudge, know what I mean” left. It has been sucked dry.
You've got that right. What's true is what's true. We are now in the odd (and dangerous) position of self-censorship. No good can come of that.

“Teen” “youth” “aspiring rapper” “gentle giant” are all media approved descriptions for black criminals.
Wonder why the video is not posted? From what I have seen the black man has a good case against the cop.
Also, If the cop was off duty then he may not have the legal protection that he would have if he was on duty in uniform.
