No, it wasn’t straight up. The camera angle makes it misleading.

Overall, it’s not impressive, especially compared to some other airshow flights of commercial and transport planes.

I do like the 787, though, and the big 777x is going to be impressive as well..

Lacking pax, baggage, cargo, etc., or accommodation for internationally mandated fuel reserves, the 787's dog and pony take (show) off served the purposes of delighting wingnuts and wowing the aero-herded.
