Since no one observed the creation of the world, all theories should be valid. Shunning them is... unscientific. This is your personal bias choosing.
It is strange that you are bothered that some people believing the world is only 6000 years old. If we are all here by an accident and return to nothingness, what does it matter? You are also wrong about religion being negative. Perhaps you should check out Christian missions, see how many people are fed and helped each year. I would also recommend you research Christianity’s affect on Science, you’d be surprised. Try reading some primary works of Galileo, Newton, Copernicus, Kepler, etc.
