The day after Spokane city officials asked her to resign from the city's volunteer Police Ombudsman Commission amid allegations of "intimidating and harassing behavior," former NAACP chapter president Rachel Dolezal says she's not stepping down from the post.
"I will not resign," she tells PEOPLE. "I have done nothing wrong and neither has [board members] Adrian Dominguez or Kevin Berkompass."
The investigation into the alleged misconduct by Dolezal and the two board members was instigated by a whistleblower in April.
The investigation found that the three board members created a negative work environment for the employee, manipulated the minutes of meetings and attempted to adopt new policies before a new ombudsman could be hired.

"We have done our best each step of the way and double-checked our actions with legal counsel," she says.
"We are unpaid volunteers who have been serving the public faithfully in an unprecedented, evolving police oversight commission," she says.
"The work is tough, and certainly there is a degree of expected push-back from the institution," she says, "but the level of harassment and sabotage by city government is completely undeserved and inappropriate."
Dolezal, who has been accused of lying about her ethnicity, was specifically accused of improperly publicizing the names of those involved in officer misconduct investigations.
"This is the police ombudsman commission and complaints need to be kept confidential," City Council President Ben Stuckart said at a Wednesday afternoon press conference. "To break confidentiality is flat-out wrong."

I don’t know how these boards work; what is the process if a board member is being investigated for filing false police reports? It sounds like she has access to confidential information so maybe she ought to place herself on suspension until those cases are resolved.

I been thinking that he parents maybe at fault in how she turned out. He parents adopted 4 black kids and to her, it must’ve felt like her parents love black kids more than they love white kids. She attended a mostly black school and once again whites are discriminated against and blacks are treated better. She must’ve really wanted to be black so she could receive the love that he parents never gave her
