Well gosh, then I guess we should expect the same outcome if he stands with us.
Ahhhh.... no thanks.
“He did, actually, but in the end he wouldnt break the law because he was afraid it would end with a shoot out.”
Not really as far as breaking the law. Yet, you are correct in that it may have come to a shoot out between different LEO.
And that is what needed to happen, if the pro-murder side didn’t back down.
As it stands, it looks like the forces of darkness were willing to move in and back their position up with force,
Bush backed down in the game of chicken.
But it wasn’t a game.
He ran. One reason I will never vote for him.
“But I honestly think he did what he could without provoking a battle and a constitutional crisis,”
Again. That is what needed to happen.
LYING BASTARD!
I wasn’t there. Only read about it.
Tell us exactly what Jeb did to protect her life?
Did he move in National Guard?
Did he move in State Troopers?
You could walk on water and I’d inform everyone you cant swim...
Seriously Jeb? You call that standing for Terri Schiavo, remind me not to have this guy in my corner if Im ever in that situation
The pro-murder side never backs down. Also, I don’t think most people realize how involved the Scientologists were in this. Terri went into a coma because of some Scientologist ritual purging and fasting, and they - especially her husband - wanted to cover it up.
The Scientologists control the municipal offices, the courts and LE in the Tampa St Pete area. They also control the Catholic Church, which is why the odious Bishop Lynch not only refused to defend her but wouldn’t let any priests from his diocese visit her.
There were many official forces other than the Governor involved in that, and I honestly think he did the best he could within the law...and with no support. I was one of a handful of people outside the hospital.
If having him stand with you results in your death, how many will choose that?
If you read my post, you’d know. He went to the Supreme Court, he tried to get a special law passed, but as I explained, he didn’t call out the state police at the end because the risk of an armed confrontation with the Scientologist-controlled local police forces was just too high.
What would you have done, or is this the usual Keyboard Kommando bluster?
I do not believe Bush was outside the law to go and stop it.
If an alternate LEO met them with opposite purpose, one side backs down or the chips fall where they do.
John Bush backed down.
He could have gone down in history as one of the greats.
Ahem. Uhhh, wagglebee. Clean up on aisle six....
I can understand where you are coming from, and I think he was in a bad spot to be sure.
However, for me personally, there is no way that i could allow a helpless woman to be dehydrated to death in my state while I was governor of it.
That is a true horror.
I would have considered a constitutional crisis or even a battle. Some things are worth fighting for, even if you lose, but you may also win.
And had I decided against those things, then I would have gone down to the hospital myself with water.
And if they shoot me to death because I bring that water, then so be it. Some things are worth dying for.
What happened to Terry Schiavo was an abomination. That is not something should be allowed or tolerated ever.
As far as I am concerned those LEOs that prevented people from giving her fluids are guilty of her murder.
Sent in the Guard and State Troopers to protect her life.
Let me also tell you what I won’t be doing.
Voting for your amigo, Jeb Bush.
He caved to the Supreme Court.
He’s not my amigo. Did you read any part of my response? I already said I wouldn’t vote for him in the primary, which is the only important thing here in Florida.
