Finally, a serious and truly experienced contender. Donald Trump and his $9 billion just made the biggest splash of the 2016 presidential race.
By the time the seas stop sloshing back and forth, there may not be a drop of water left over for anybody else to float a rowboat.
Of course, what you heard from Washington and the elite political set in both parties Tuesday was snickering and laughing and scoffing. All the old jokes about The Donald's cheesy style. His crazy orange combover. His penchant for grand statements spoken bluntly with and exclamation point that is often dotted by his very own finger in the air.
And, yes, he descended down to his kickoff at Trump Towers via a glass escalator. It was shopping mall glamorous.
As presidential announcements go, it was brilliant. It was simple, and it was patriotic.
No sun-splashed park with throngs of rented people jammed around an H-shaped stage. No fake columns.
Just a stage and a velvet blue curtain and a podium. Flanked by American flags carefully folded to show both stars and stripes, Mr. Trump wore a simple uniform of red tie, white shirt, blue suit. Red, white and blue.
Get it? Red, white and blue? America's colors? The flag? In other words, Mr. Trump loves America. Get it?

Just wow.
What a wonderful breath of fresh air!
There are influence peddling insiders in hotel rooms and back rooms all over the country, from LA to D.C. trying to come up with a strategy on how to handle Trump. It’s a safe bet the mood is one of deep concern and genuine panic.
Eye twitching anxiety. :-)
Votes for Trump will be votes to repudiate that class, whole and entire, and dump it onto the ash heap of history.
If a person is opposed to Donald Trump as the next POTUS they should speak loud and clear.
But to suggest he has no chance is ludicrous on it's face.
That article is right on the money. Most of us are disgusted with the mealy mouthed politicians who presume to represent us when they’re running, then selling us out just as fast as they can. NO MORE! Enough!
Surely folks will be around shortly to call him a Nazi.
Trump referenced both of these articles on his twitter page so he knows to pound them into the ground on this trade bill. A lot of Democrats did not like this trade bill either for different reasons than us.

And the specter of Republicans, who just won an historic victory by promising to do battle against President Obama, colluding with Obama to surrender Congress right to amend trade treaties and sign on to a Trans-Pacific Partnership pact that looks like another transfer of jobs and factories to Asia, has re-enforced these sentiments.
If Trump wants to stake his claim as a different kind of Republican, he will go to Washington and pound the Boehner-McConnell Congress until it gives up on Obamatrade and fast track.
And that's some sweet sh!t right there, I don't care who you are.
He has denounced Obama over the years. He isn’t running against Obama. He is running against the political class and I like it. He is speaking directly to the people and we’re listening because we have to live with the results of the GOPe’s decisions. We’ve been sold out repeatedly by our leaders. I don’t want to see one more mealy mouthed GOPe succeed with the same ole smarmy message we’ve heard virtually forever. I find Trump refreshing. I find his honesty refreshing. If he keeps it up, he’ll have my vote.
That too is a safe bet.
Maybe he does want back in the WH, but I believe he will be conveniently “away”, and “OFTEN”. Or, possibly he speaks in code to get the message out. LOL! I recall last time she ran, that he was thought too “smart” to sabotage her in South Carolina too— (which he pretty much did) and why he is kept in the dog house during this run.
His shuffle and shucks routine must have saved him, to ever get out of that one.
I haven’t seen that certificate, and I am as disappointed as you are.
On the subject of filing, in his announcement he said that not only would he provide the necessary documents, but that he would do so without asking for any extensions.
I expect that that will be how everything proceeds.
As far as not filing yet, he has your number, and he’s just pressing buttons for you!
Why do 65 percent of Republican voters think Republicans arent doing what we said we were going to do? You know why? Because were not doing what we said we were going to do, says one Freedom Caucus member. We didnt talk about trade . . . We talked about dealing with the executive amnesty issue, we talked about dealing with Obamacare, we talked about totally reforming the tax code, requiring work for welfare.
In other words, the same forces that are making the Trump candidacy resonate with the grassroots and are infuriating Williamson and others on the conservative side of the commentary aisle are fueling Jim Jordan and those House conservatives in their increasingly bitter battle with Boehner.

He's not running.
Trump just took both divisions of the party and all who own them to the woodshed.
And in fact that's one of the reasons Trump is running. The corrupt bureaucrats in D.C. never took it to the people. They never got vocal in a big way. We never heard any repeated loud public demands Obama be fired, prosecuted, impeached, charged or brought up on massive ethics violations. Take your pick.
Call it karma or widespread anger and concern. It's real.
[The elite political set in both parties Tuesday was snickering and laughing and scoffing.]
Many also berated Rush Limbaugh and Matt Drudge. Look where they are today.
Trump is a wildcard for POTUS.
Don’t sell Donald Trump short—its a mistake to underrate his message or his honest approach. He may not win, but he will Shake things up in ways we can only imagine at this point in time. He’s no ones fool.
Since Trump says he doesn't want donations, I'm not sure he's legally required to file.
The definition of being duped is voting for another politician just because he has a f&cking (R) after his name.
Now that’s interesting.
Interesting, in reading the FEC page, it states that candidates must file if they intend on (or have) received $5,000 or more in contributions, or intend to assign someone to accept contributions on their behalf. I don’t see anything on there that requires filing if you spend more than $5,000 of your own money. Did I miss something there?
