Donald Trump: The anti-politician
wnd.com ^ | 6/18/2015 | Patrick J. Buchanan

At the declaration by Donald Trump that he is a candidate for the presidential nomination of the Republican Party, media elites of left and right reacted with amusement, anger and disgust.

Though he has been a hugely successful builder-businessman, far more successful than, say, Carly Fiorina, who has been received respectfully, our resident elites resolutely refuse to take Trump seriously.

They should. Not because he will be nominated, but because the Trump constituency will represent a vote of no confidence in the Beltway ruling class of politicians and press.

Votes for Trump will be votes to repudiate that class, whole and entire, and dump it onto the ash heap of history.

Maybe people don’t realize how much Politicking, timing, planning, character judgment, patience, nerve and wisdom it takes to become as independently financially successful as guys like him.

He can be a caricature and a wing nut, but underestimating his ability to get done what he sets his mind to getting done is a mistake.

If there is a brokered convention, Trump's deal-making skills could become really relevant to getting a candidate who isn't bought and paid for by the elite puppet masters. In addition to that, with Trump in the debates, it's very likely the candidates who are just faking their conservative talking points won't survive the scrutiny.

There is no downside to Trump being a potential candidate.

Trumps crazy as a leftist but he is a lo-o-se cannon.. on the deck of ship of state..

I say grease the deck... enjoy the chaos..
AS LONG AS...... he keeps speaking the TRUTH....

The TRUTH is corrosive acid to Washington D.C....
With a “little” truth.. Hildabest will melt.. Obama will sizzle like a piece of raw Warlock on a griddle... Boehner and McConnell will smell like an outhouse in 100 degrees weather..

TED should speak MORE truth than he does...
AND Walker should start mouthing some of it..

“There is no downside to Trump being a potential candidate. “

He worked hard to put the “birther” issue to rest. That shows dedication, determination, courage, and connectedness.

Dbrow,

I thought it was DT’s challenge to Obama to show his “long form” bc that prompted the release of the now forgotten photo-shop fabrication.

As I recall, that shut him up, but could DT’s challenge have been a collaboration between Donald and the Dems?

Pat often hits the nail on the head, in this article he buries it with a single blow. Those who dismiss Trump because of ideology aren’t paying attention, he’s not running on indeology he’s running AGAINST ideologies.

“There is no downside to Trump being a potential candidate.”

The downside is Trump himself!

....”underestimating Trumps ability to get done what he sets his mind to getting done is a mistake”......

Equally so the chaos and the enemies he makes while he’s doing so. Though he accomplishes his tasks he often hurts businesses and smaller entities along the way....

Trumps all about the big ideas....it’s all big for Trump...not so sure he can work well “With” the less than advantaged or even be willing to.

Yeah. The politicians in power now are very big on making everything work especially for middle class Americans

Can’t wait til someone steps in and tells everyone to stop pressuring me to speak foreign languages in my own country

It’ll happen any day now

Trumps going to be up against everything every other President has been up against in Washington.....if he can’t “work with” what’s there for his so called “deals” he;ll get no further than the rest of them....he knows nothing about working the halls of Washington....which is not the same as being outside that cesspool.

It’s hasn’t even been a full 3 days since Trump announced... and he’s stirred it up very much.

Don’t ever trust a liberal Democrat. And Donald Trump is a liberal Democrat.

Yeah, just about anyone with common sense and is outside of that DC Beltway crowd could do a much better job than those DC clowns. Being a good president is not ‘rocket science’ nowhere close. Trump does have the means and the balls to shake that place up.

I don’t care about what Donald trump does or how well he does or if he’s president or if he turns into a liberal dem once he’s in or does whatever he wants to with immigration, legal and illegal

After Ted Cruz got on the wrong side of Jeff sessions I don’t care bout them the election or the debates or Iowa

All I’m saying is this. He is very talented at making deals and at figuring out the rules very quickly

Does that mean anything about how he would run the country or even get into the presidency? No

Does my pointing this out mean I want him in there? Not necessarily at all

Just saying Underestimating him is silliness

You forgotten everyone in D.C. is on the payroll and are owned bought and paid for by all kinds of people. They know who butters their bread. Come on.

Trump would have extremely powerful tool available to him which are available to any president.

Trump just takes it to the people if the bureaucrats in Congress want to keep it business as usual. And they will.

Power of the press. Go public. Spell out what's happening in a very blunt manner. Trump seems to be extremely good at doing that. His 1 hour speech woke up millions.

Hit the podium weekly get vocal with the brutal truth. Name names. The public will love it. The phrase, "The whole world is watching" would apply here.

Many other tools powerful tools are also available as well. Our options are dwindling, it's time to use them.
