Prepare for Muslim extremism as we prepared for WW2 says former defence chief

Britain must stop "sleepwalking" and prepare to tackle Muslim extremism as seriously as it planned for the Second World War, a former head of the Armed Forces has warned.

Lord Richards of Herstmonceux said extremism poses a "real threat" to the world and condemned dithering politicians too reluctant to lead the way.

Warning that Islamic State militants would wreak a "hell of a lot of damage" in the coming years, he argued the Armed Forces risk being left "on the back foot" by leaders who fail to plan properly.

"I think the problem is that we have not seen that we need to approach this issue of Muslim extremism as we might approach World War Two back in the 30s," the former Chief of the Defence Staff said.

"This is a real threat to us and we're sleepwalking in the way we're approaching it."

Considering they threw their support to Hitler, it’s pretty easy to make a case WWII is not over from that perspective.

Well it doesn’t help that a Muslim extremist is POTUS.

Are they dithering because they are stupid, or dithering because some of them are on the muzzie side?

Lord Richards has the right of it. We better get our act together too.

ISIS practices the same inhumanity to man that Hitler practiced. The very same.

We didnt really gear up for WWII until after Pearl Harbor when it was almost too late. The military had been pared down to a size similar to what Obama has done to us. Military weaponry, aircraft, and armor were subpar, with some notable exceptions.
And, there was a big isolationist movement. It took a sneak attack for us to vear up. We had our 9/11, and then most people forgot who the last enemy is. Thwt has not changed.

Not quite.

The muslim atrocities even shocked the Nazis.

The had special knives made up with the handle sewn into the palm of a glove so it wouldn’t slip out of their hand as they had competition on how many throats they could cut.

IIRC, the winner cut over 3000 throats in a day.

Am watching the awful story of the near beheading of the woman from OK on Megan Kelly’s show. One woman was beheaded that day and this survivor almost died, but the pathetic OK officials called it “workplace violence.” They were obviously bullied by the FBI to come up with that travesty of justice as they had at Ft. Hood.

So some crazy jihadi can attack you at work and yell his praise to Allah, and this lousy government will not call it terrorism. But they are all over doing something about that 155 year old Confederate flag. Unbelievable and positively sickening.

He’ll be up on some charges regarding religious offense or intolerance soon. But he’s right. We’re a few steps behind them — given our misunderstanding of Islam and association of it with violence.

Why is the former defense chief telling us to not prepare?

My reading of history shows that Briton was woefully unprepared for WWII and if it wasn't for the American Lend Lease and Hitler's stupidity in attempting to bring England to heel through a bombing campaign and instead invading in force, England would be a vassal state of Greater Germania right now.

However, i could be wrong and they may have beet Nazi Germany single handily in six months.
