As the nations largest retailer announced a ban on Confederate flag merchandise, U.S. Sen. Chris Murphy challenged the chain to cease carrying assault weapons.
Murphy, a Connecticut Democrat who has backed numerous gun control measures on Capitol Hill during his career, called out Wal-Mart publicly on social media after the chain announced it would stop carrying items emblazoned with the Confederate icons.

I don’t drink and I demand that Walmart stop selling alcoholic beverages!
Lets call on planned parenthood to stop doing abortions.
And cell phones!
I think this will stop when someone says fuc you to these nutjobs.
What F*ing criminal can go to a retailer and buy an AR? Freaking idiots!
The nutjobs are saying FU to us. The government is on their side.
I “call on” this LIB degenerate senator to self-exile. Hasn’t the fool ever read the Bill of Rights?
They
don’t
care.
Walmart foolishly entered the fray, so now they deserve whatever they get. Let’s see what other stuff we can ban! Yippee!
When I see the word Conecticut I puke a little.
Lunatic libs are shocked and emboldened by the success of their flag censorship, and will try to extend their bans to everything possible.
They have high emotion churned up, a fertile ground not to be wasted by these people who want to control every facet of our lives, and wont be happy till they do
I should add that this is EXACTLY why one should never give the left an inch. All it does is encourage them.
Hard to feel any sympathy for anyone who willingly obliges the mindless mob.
It's for the children!!
I really can’t afford it right now, but I’m about to go buy an AR15 with Confederate flag furniture.
Because I’m sick of people who say that “Piss Christ” is just art and flag burning is just freedom of speech and piece of cloth, yet the Confederate flag causes physical pain to people who were born 100 years AFTER the end of slavery.
Prior to 1989, the term "assault weapon" did not exist in the lexicon of firearms. It is a political term, developed by anti-gun publicists to expand the category of "assault rifles." However, since "assault weapon" was an invented term, it had no technical meaning. Before assault weapons could be banned, legislators had to define them.
Because assault rifles were already banned, and because an outright ban on semi-automatic firearms wasn't considered politically feasible, the AWB defined assault weapons as semi-automatic firearms that shared too many cosmetic features with their fully automatic counterparts.
People who fall for these bans are fools. Politicians who fall for them don't deserve our vote. Donald Trump is one of those politicians who wants to ban "assault weapons".
I demand we BAN ALL MAYONNAISE!!
I'll go one further. I call on Wal-Mart to stop selling anything. As a matter of fact, I would be content to see them take their remaining stock of assault weapons, put them in their collective mouths, and pull the trigger.
They have simply become increasingly Liberal over the years, and I'm about ready to support union efforts to screw them over.
