I retired from a major chemical company, who required everyone to back into the parking places. Why? If there was an explosion or plant emergency, you were heading in the right direction to exit the plant.
Makes sense. I have this vision of your colleagues wearing those shirts that say, “chemcial technician. If you see me running like h3ll, try to keep up!”
Another reason to embrace ‘combat parking’. Well, actually the same reason, getting out of Dodge PDQ.
Neighbors of mine were logistics people in US embassies in a couple of volatile African countries. When they retired it took a couple of years for them to stop parking backwards in their own garage.
Same way at the visitors parking lot overlooking the caldera at Masaya Volcano south of Managua, Nicaragua.
"Visitors will leave the park NOW!" (she's fixin' ta BLOW!)
