Geology is not at all like math. Evolution is even farther from it. Both geology and evolution require interpretation of the data (i.e. personal speculation). Math does not require personal speculation. Math, beyond the foundational, observable truths (1 + 1 = 2), requires proof. Geology and evolution require a good story.

“...believe in the facts of geology and evolution...” - that is the fallacy of Begging the Question (which meaning is far from what is commonly used for “raises the question”). Begging the Question means assuming the truth of your position to prove it...as you have done here. The “facts” to which you refer are not facts at all, but assumptions that attempt to explain observable phenomena. What are your assumptions to explain protein lasting millions of years?

Yes, if you are referring to the fairy tale that “billions of years ago, in a swamp far away, on a world made from not even pixie dust, in a universe that spontaneously sprang from nothing into untold billions of tons of matter for no reason, that a spark of static electricity formed a protein that rather than decayed continued to become more and more complex until hundreds of thousands of life forms differentiated due to positive responses to changing condition

But I don't believe that. I believe God created the Heavens and the Earth...and that "evolution" is part of his brilliant design. Why are those two beliefs mutually exclusive?

Bushwah! this is what you posted: “Are there idiots who believe this nonsense?”

That closes debate.

Rescind that statement and I will engage.

The geological record is dependent on assumptions about how long granitic rock took to form. The work of Robert Gentry turns this multi-gazillion year assumption into tenths of milliseconds. Let the data speak.

Just look inside the human body and the complexity found there, even at the cellular level, it is like a whole universe.

Some fossils found near Glenn Rose, Texas add information. See Dinosaur Valley State Park. Human footprints in same fossil and fossilized area as dinosaur footprints. A flood about 1908 move huge amounts of formation that had covered the fossils. When the water level is low, visitors can still walk on and touch the tracks that remain in the stream bed.

Picture near bottom of website page complete with CT scan of a footprint: http://dinosaurc14ages.com/footprints.htm

Besides the legends of dragons, my children also mentioned the legends of the giant sea serpents, also common across many cultures.

Sure, just as soon as the author explains his theory that fossilization took place in a few thousand years.

He explained it - maybe you can get someone to read it to you.

Your turn.

Because unlike evolution, the Bible does not begin with 'Once upon a time, long ago, and far away...'

Because the thought that evolution occurred after God created requires death- which then requires a fallen world before the creation of man and therefore death predates God’s requirement that the woman’s seed will crush the serpents head- ie defeat Satan for the souls of (willing)men. If death and decay predates the killing of an animal by God to provide a covering (salvation, redemption from guilt)for man, then there is hope.

Also, if man is simply a higher form of swamp pus, then what is man’s life really worth? God says He created man in His image and likeness, not that of an amoeba.

Regards

I read a good article by Dinesh D’souza and debating evolution. The point of it was that maybe evolution did occur but the difference was that the caveman was given consciousness and a soul by God. Thus creating him in His image.

I thought that creationists had finally accepted that those Glen Rose footprints weren’t footprints at all. Has something changed?

Well, D’souza seems like a good guy, but if he is quibbling about what is written as not being the singular truth, then he is just wrong. The term “it is written” means something. The thoughts of man on what might have been the way it happened is just that, thoughts of man. Yes, I do believe the account as it is written, otherwise, the rest of it is just as subject to risk as well.

Sure, just as soon as you explain how millions of fossils were created WITHOUT a global cataclysmic flood.

With pleasure. Just to make sure I understand, is it your assertion that all fossils were created by the Great Flood?
