Many conservatives and, indeed, many people have been confused about what, exactly, Marco Rubios position is on immigration now that hes said he regrets his support for the failed Gang of Eight bill. In an interview with New Hampshires local ABC station on Friday, Rubio made clear that he remains a supporter of a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants. I do, Rubio said, when asked if he supports a path to citizenship for those currently in the United States illegally. First, though, Rubio said lawmakers have to prove to the American people that illegal immigration is under control, implement an e-verify system, and modernize our legal immigration system.

I thought we already had a path to citizenship here in America - isn’t it called legal immigration?
Rubio should run as a democrat
Illegal-Democrats to become illegal-Americans which will become ....
I think we all support a path to citizenship, it's called "Naturalization" in accordance with our laws and customs.
Finito.
It wasn’t long ago that many FReepers liked Rubio........of course 10 years ago, they liked Rove too : )
I support a path to citizenship for illegal aliens,it leads straight back to their country of origins and stops there with no return trip possible. Possible stopover on the chain gang to build the Southern fence. No American citizenship for them.
Señator Rubio shows his true colors once again.
Seems to me he was hedging his bets while pursuing his senate seat.
Who cares what the Timber wolves point guard thinks.
Rubio and Bush are definitely in the wrong primary.
Well, I’d say many of us believed that all Republicans are conservative. Every day, we are learning the hard way the fallacy of that belief. The party of Reagan died long ago.
That was before we found out Rove was a back stabbing assbastard who deliberately steered George W. every wrong way he could, and thereby CAUSED much of our current problems, and before Rubio jumped ship on conservatives to serve the Rockefeller wing's best interests on Immigration.
This is my thinking. You break our laws, you get our punishments. You do not get rewards.
I like the idea of reciprocity. You break OUR immigration laws, and we’ll enforce them the same way ‘home’ would enforce theirs.
I am a supporter of a path to citizenship:
For those who chose the proper and legal channels, I welcome you after you complete your path. For all those who are here illegally, nothing...request denied.
And one more thing that is never discussed:
Assimilation
I fully support a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants.
Go home and get in line with everyone else who wants to immigrate here.
