tar the Republican Party as anti-immigrant

So I guess boosting American's job opportunities is now considered anti-immigrant.

Maybe this will quiet down some Trump supporters since he is unlikely to support this proposal.

Not sure. I actually expect Trump to come out against H1-B visas with the phrase, “No American should have to train a foreign replacement to take his job.” Then, if anyone says he had changed his tune, he will start citing Hillary and Obama on a dozen policies and say “”Things change.”
