I know that area has gentrified substantially in recent years, but it still borders some very rough parts of town. I wouldn't walk in that neighborhood on weekends or at night without violating DC’s gun laws.

A guy I know was near the location of the incident at that time. It was not good just a block away with kids chucking fireworks at cars. The gentrification is very localized.
