These are gifts and are not income; with gifts, it is the donor, not the donee, that is responsible for any federal estate and gift tax (should not be any here as the amount is less than $1,000,000).

oh, I was making the point that they are acting like the Nazis in Germany. They made the rabbis cut off those curls, forgive me for not recalling the name and meaning for them.But it was against their religion to do so. No one is making this point.

Can they just put the money in escrow, since the fine is under appeal, and then have their lawyers drag it out forever, considering the conflict of interest of the “judging official”?
