So what! I think most people have no problem identifying the Mexican invaders.
On the contrary, I don’t think it’s at all easy-— not at first glance, and especially in the Southwest -— to tell a Californian, Arizonan, New Mexican, or Texan, from an invader.
I knew (lived with, actually) people in California who were there before California became part of the USA. That is, at least some of their ancestors were Juaneños, Native Californians. They didn’t invade.
