South Carolina House approves removal of Confederate flag
Fox News ^ | July 9, 2015 | Fox News

BREAKING NEWS – The South Carolina House approved taking down the Confederate flag from Capitol grounds early Thursday, a stunning reversal in a state that was the first to leave the Union in 1860 and raised the flag again at its Statehouse more than 50 years ago to protest the civil rights movement.

The move came after more than 13 hours of contentious debate, weeks after the deadly shootings of nine black church members, including a state senator, at a Bible study in Charleston. The House approved the Senate bill 93-27, and still has one more vote than appeared to be perfunctory since they had met two-thirds approval.

It is possible the flag could come down Thursday or Friday, but the exact timing is unknown.

The bill is set to go to Republican Gov. Nikki Haley, who supports it.

By all means, lets complete the removal of history. It will make us “feel” so much better.

raised the flag again at its Statehouse more than 50 years ago to protest the civil rights movement.

The article correctly points out that flying the "Confederate flag" has nothing to do with honoring Confederate veterans or with southern pride. It is a product of the Democrat KKK of the 1950's.

How many old headstones are there with CFs on them? Will they have to be replaced too?

Finally. If only we had taken down this flag 150 years ago there would be no violence in the streets. Now the crips and bloods will walk hand and hand as the sweep up the rubbish in their ghettos.

I was speaking to a work friend the other day and one of her family is over in China. He said that in China, they are watching this in belief the flag was on top of the SC State House. When he told her it was just a small flag on a memorial on the grounds and not on top the State House, she didn't believe him. She basically said that she saw the photos and those proved the flag was flying on top of the SC State House. Yep, thus is the ignorance of the media informed public.

My son lives in Columbia SC and has off and on for years. He didn't even know the flag was there! He works near the grounds and said he couldn't tell me how many times he had passed that State House and had never even seen the flag "on top the State House"......I told him that is because it isn't on top the State House. He said "huh, well, what is all the fuss about"......indeed

WHY THE REGIME PICKED ON THE CONFEDERATE BATTLE FLAG

AND NOT ROOF’S MANIFESTO

Because it was under threat of questioning and possible impeachment proceedings by its so called political opposition the regime needed to defer or stop any movement toward this. It was necessary to use a political device usually atrributed to Saul Alinsky but used by the nazi and commie’s like Stalin with the “Kulacks” through racial division. It created persons engaged in felonious assults on authority who were black youths into; “Victims of an evil society” (thus approving their actions) out of whole cloth.

The regime began with the Zimmerman case which resulted in a series of assults by black youths on completely innocent whites,”hispanics”, and asians who were either targeted or wandered near or through black gang infested areas. The perpetators excuse; The reported “cold blood killing of Treyvon Martin because he was black”

It led to a score or more deaths and serious injuries which were treated as local news ignored and forgotten. And it was met with silence while this was happening. Neither the locqatious POTUS or his political opposition uttered as much as a “Now!,Now! or a “tsk!,tsk!”.

Those killings were referenced by the Charleston Church massacre perpetrator in his crazed manifesto.

Naturally when it was discovered that mention of those score of murders were used in this nut cases’s “manifesto” the reaction was....“Well we can’t let that out. Oh ! His face book has him holding a Confederate battle flag, (Which to many is simply an ensign of protest and rebellion), that must be his excuse “The Confederates made him do this horrible act ! Let’s get them !” Well they’re doing a good job of perverting what that battle flag’s used for at the same time ignoring the regimes complicity in engendering those previous racial incidents.

Countless brave Confederate troops, who died to keep the Federal colossus in check, are spinning in their graves.

Meanwhile, Obama and his stooges nationwide are smiling at the contempt shown by the American people toward the American system of checks and balances and the unprecedented growth of Federal powers seized by Washington.

How interesting! All those legislators just HAD to do something to make them feel good. So they insulted all those who believe that the stars and bars simply represents southern pride, to please a few with a warped and weak understanding of history. They want to erase history why? Because a madman killed?

I do not think that insulting a whole lot of people is the answer. Now that they have actually done something useless, they can put the sordid event behind them and move on to something else without addressing the real issues.

The New Symbol of Slavery

The Confederate flag could easily rise again as an important symbol for slavery...a new slavery...a symbol of the huge loss of individual freedoms we are all experiencing daily. That the Confederate flag is already seen as a symbol for slavery by the people , and now having it banned, is a perfect storm for this as a new symbol for these times. It is coming to represent the new nanny state slavery ... PC, invasive personal “rules”, foods we cannot eat, the taking over of mud puddles in our back yards, banning coal for “global warming” (a hoax)..... the list is long and growing longer each day. I have purchased a Confederate flag ... and when SC takes it down from the Confederate Memorials (the only place it is flying on government land) that will be the signal for me to begin flying the flag protesting my own personal Neo-slavery. Yes I live in SC, but I am from Indiana ... so this isn’t a “southern” thing. This flag, showing up in the north would be even more symbolic. I do believe this symbol for slavery will rise again, protesting a kind of slavery equally as dangerous as with no Lincoln in the wings to set us free. And once again, history is proving the liberals and Democrats are the slave masters as they have always been throughout history.

They’re gonna go after the memorial next.
This is just the beginning.

Time to question the Red, Green, Black flag of the African supremacists.

Excellent post!

I’ve seen examples of that here in Tennessee. The locals are mad as hell at their flag being taken away by an overbearing government. My neighbor just got himself a new battle flag to put on his truck.

If the liberals wanted to get an entire portion of the country mad and ready to fight, they’ve done it. This won’t go away and will be one of the catalysts seething under the surface.

My Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia is proudly flying on my front porch. yes so is my First Confederate Battle Flag. i even ordered the Second and Third Confederate Battle Flags to fly on my porch. getting ready for the hate mongers to go after the rest of Civil War and Revolutionary War Flags too Betsy Ross Flag, The Bennigton Flag, The harrison Flag, The Gadsen Flag, The Live free or Die. This has nothing to do with it implies about the flag, IT HAS more to do with removing the history of America’s past. The revisionist history of the Liberals is to deny reality!

I was actually thinking of retiring to South Carolina.

I, and my money, will stay put now.

Of course, my decision will be offset by the huge spike in Black tourism the state is sure to enjoy going forward.
