Several US Senators have put in requests to see it and all were turned down, they were told is was a need to know only basis.

That raises two questions: 1) Who does need to know? and 2) Who does actually know? -- The Bernank?

I was inside the Bullion Depository at Fort Knox in 1977 as a temporary laborer in support of a combined Treasury / GAO audit. We moved 47,000 bars in about 3 weeks. This was supposedly about 10% of the gold there.
