I believe the allies won WWII by pretty much throwing out the rulebook.

For sure our forefathers did at Concord when they sniped at the retreating redcoats during their retreat to Boston. At the time, the British complained that the Colonists weren’t fighting fair.

Earlier, at the bridge, the colonists fought by the British rules and got shot to pieces.
