While Trump “talks” I recall him threatening to jump in (sabotage) the election back in 2012 if we didn't choose Romney.

we do not need Trump.

He isn't a true conservative. he is a mouth.

I am not Defending Perry, I am disappointed.

Trump is a loud mouthed publicity whore who has donated a lot of money to Democrats. Much as I like the stuff he is saying, I don’t trust him. I can see him being used to drag the ‘Pubbies beyond the realm of the “politically possible” then bailing.

But he is saying stuff the rest of GOP lacks the testicular fortitude to say, and which people would like to hear. Further, he does not back down and apologize when some pissant Democrat or race pimp gets “outraged.” This, naturally, strikes a chord.

If folks like Perry want him to go away, they need to pick up the load and carry it. Otherwise, Trump will gain more traction.

I am disappointed in how easy it is for people to fool so many otherwise learned conservative people. Lately it seems so many people here on FR, feels like a majority even, have fallen for Trump's act. The Trumpsters are out in force, no doubt.

He isn't a true conservative. he is a mouth.

He isn't a conservative at all. He is a guy pushing his brand (ie, his name) by saying things that will benefit him temporarily. He has no record of being a conservative, in fact it is just the opposite. He knows how to push people's buttons, throw red meat out with reckless abandon, and keep his name in the spotlight. He will not win the GOP nomination, will never be President, but knows he can build his "the Donald" brand with few long term consequences.

I will say it is refreshing to see someone not back down to the PC police, but it's only temporary. Trump says and does whatever is useful to Trump at the time. He admits this himself with his excuse for giving so much money to Democrats and talking up Hillary and Obama - "well, I'm a businessman I have to do those kinds of things, it's smart business". How is that any different than when he completely contradicts his current policy stances down the road with "well, I was running for President, I have to do say those kinds of things, it's good politics"? And why is Trump given such a pass on his past liberal stances and contributions, yet so many here wouldn't give the same kind of pass to Walker, Perry, etc?
