This is the problem with the “militarization” of police. It’s not about the equipment they have, it’s about the attitude shift of considering someone an “enemy” as opposed to a “suspect”.

Definitely an attitude shift, last 2 encounters I had with state police here in MD were definitely cops with attitude problems. (1) Pulled over half mile from my house on way to work at 6am (I am in my 60s, suit and tie for work). Cop walks up to car, states his name and says something that I didn't hear and I say "excuse me?" because I didn't hear him. He states I better lose the attitude real quick and I go what?? Explain to him that I didn't hear him but no difference, he gives me a ticket(not an inspection tix) for rear tag light out (yes, TAG light, $70). (2) Early AM, State cop in WaWa, making a 20 oz coffee, spills it all over the counter and floor, says nothing to anyone, makes another and walks out.
Bugs me that my opinion of LEOs has dropped to the level it has, but its a direct result of this 'holier than thou' attitude that have become so prevalent over the past 10,15 yrs, IMO.
