Smear Campaign Against Top Cruz Donor Catches Attention of MundoFox ("Unauthorized Immigrants")
NewsBusters ^ | July 19, 2015 | Yuri Perez

After blazing away for weeks at Donald Trump, the guns of the politically correct speech police now appear to be taking aim at the Cruz campaign. MundoFox dedicated a full report to a protest staged by an array of Latino organizations in front of the New York City offices of presidential candidate Ted Cruz’s top donor, Robert Mercer.

Waving signs in support of President Obama’s Executive Amnesty actions and anti-deportation slogans such as “Keep Families Together”, protesters such as unauthorized immigrant Patricia Rivera railed against Mercer and other allegedly “anti-immigrant” donors and politicians.

Rivera had the audacity to not only bash Mercer, a Wall Street hedge fund magnate, but also demand part of his wealth.

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)

PATRICIA RIVERA, UNAUTHORIZED IMMIGRANT PROTESTER: This man, a billionaire, has the money in his hands to be able to help thousands of immigrants, thousands of people, to do an altruistic act, and he does nothing! ... PEGGY CARRANZA, CORRESPONDENT: Activists say this is only the beginning of a series of demonstrations they will organize against those, they say, who are important donors to anti-immigrant centers and presidential hopefuls [emphasis added].

MundoFox correspondent Peggy Carranza cited a New York Times article on Mercer’s multi-million dollar donations to Cruz and other conservatives, but did not tie the contributions to any specifically “anti-immigrant” activism.

Of course, the left tends to shamelessly label and broadly smear as “anti-immigrant” anyone who is opposed to illegal immigration. As a result, even self-confessed strong supporters of legal immigration to the United States, such as Sen. Cruz, end up being tarred with the broad brush and patently inaccurate “anti-immigrant” label.

The referenced article actually does not make any mention of the issue of immigration, but rather indicates that Cruz and Mercer “share a passion for unbridled markets, concerns about the Internal Revenue Service and a skeptical view of climate change.” Mercer is also reportedly a major donor to the Heritage Foundation.

In fairness, Carranza indicated that MundoFox tried to reach a Mercer representative in order to include Mercer’s perspective on the matter, but she did not clarify if she also tried to reach a Cruz representative as well. The report signals what appears to be the intensification of an intimidation campaign against conservative donors, as Carranza concluded her report warning that the agitators will also target others “who are important donors to anti-immigrant centers and presidential hopefuls.”

The relevant portions of the referenced national newscasts appears below:

Noticias MundoFox 7/10/2015 5:30PM

ROLANDO NICHOLS, ANCHOR: Now, protests against that anti-immigrant rhetoric is growing throughout the country. Numerous Latino organizations protested in front of a company that presumably makes large contributions to ultra-conservative groups that reject the community. Is that the case? Peggy Carranza with the report from New York.

PEGGY CARRANZA, CORRESPONDENT: Dozens of activists raised their voices in front of the investment company Renaissance Technologies. The motive, they say, its CEO, finance billionaire Robert Mercer, is an important donor to anti-immigrant centers and politicians. This worries undocumented immigrants like Patricia Rivera.

PATRICIA RIVERA, UNAUTHORIZED IMMIGRANT PROTESTER: This man, a billionaire, has the money in his hands to be able to help thousands of immigrants, thousands of people, to do an altruistic act, and he does nothing!

PEGGY CARRANZA, CORRESPONDENT: Mercer made his fortune in Wall Street and may be the largest donor for Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz, who said he is proud of supporting Donald Trump, who said Mexican immigrants were rapists.

According to the New York Times, Mercer has become an important player in politics, spending more than $15 million since 2012 in support of conservative causes and campaigns.

Activists say this is only the beginning of a series of demonstrations they will organize against those, they say, who are important donors to anti-immigrant centers and presidential hopefuls [emphasis added].

The poverty of others is an infinite pit that throwing money at would accomplish NOTHING! If we were to destroy ENTIRELY our culture and society by dividing all wealth equally, the ones outside the division would cry louder that they were deprived. To give voice to the idiots is to deprive the rest of us the chance for honest discourse and a chance for sensible solutions.

I would love to see a study of all the illegal Mexican immigrants who voted in the last 50 years of THEIR elections. Voting for the plutocrats and functionaries of the PRI and their lacks. Yes PAN won some of the more recent elections but the drug cartels became rooted in the corruptocracy that has ruled Mexico for centuries. Now these refugees are here but from what I see, they want the same corruption here, only working for them!

Time to send in ICE and arrest Rivera. She needs to be deported. She’ll be caught outside a Sanctuary City doing her communist inspired rabble rousing and then we’ll see a little peace and quiet.

All I can say is: F*** Rivera and F*** Mundo. Get all illegals back to where they came from and ship with them all their anchor babies.

Mercer should offer to send some of them home. "My Treat"

unauthorized immigrant Patricia Rivera

If you are an illegal alien, you cannot be an immigrant.
There is no such thing as an unauthorized immigrant.
Would we call a bank robbery an unauthorized withdrawal?

An immigrant is one who applies to be an American, waits their turn, pays their fees, learns the language and complies with the laws.

Illegal aliens ignore all the laws.

I am not anti-immigrant, some of my favorite Americans are immigrants. I am steadfastly against illegal aliens/fraudulently documented foreigners.

It was kind of funny watching Jemhu Green struggle to find the opposite word of legal without saying illegal the other day on FOX.

The left have been using intimidation tactics successfully on homosexual marriage. Now they are using the same tactics with Ted Cruz’s donors. May God help us!

On a side note, I wonder if this Jemhu Green would care to invite some illegals into her home as her dinner guests??

We’re fully behind “Keeping Families Together”, “Patricia.”

Now, pack up and go home to your family south of the Rio Grande.

It was not surprising that the agitators in Baltimore and Ferguson were found to be paid provocateurs.

It will not be surprising to learn the same applies to PATRICIA RIVERA.

“Keep families together” is a good slogan. Let’s deport illegal fathers, along with the illegal mothers, and all of their illegal children, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Keep the whole family together in the country where they are legally permitted to live - their home country.
