Population Health is an Orwellian extension of UnitedHealths plan to profit at the expense of the real health of the people. In our opinion, the term Population Health is a blatant attempt, supported by Obamacare and the current administration, to unilaterally alter the way in which medicine is practiced in the United States.
Population Health has been around for years but its still being defined today. Tom Sullivan, Executive Editor of HIMSS Media gives some clues in his post, What exactly is population health, anyway? but confirms that what has become eminently clear is that defining population health depends on whom you ask.
When it comes to asking insurance companies, its important to understand that Population Health management doesnt pertain just to the overall health of a population, it also includes the distribution of health. If a majority of a population is relatively healthy, the goal is to find ways to move the much less healthy population over to the majority side. To accomplish this, the differences in health among a population must be eliminated in the modelor at least substantially reducedso that everyone is healthy.
Exactly how is this going to be achieved? Well, a patients unique circumstances will no longer be taken into consideration. For example, say you live in an area where the majority is unhealthy. The fact that you, personally, are healthy but now have a knee that needs an operation will not be taken into account. In your area, youll be subjected toand required to pay fora package of pre-determined bundled treatments that are based on a model of care for an unhealthy majority. Do you want to be treated as a model of a person or as the person you are?

With their demographics this would mean the end of health insurance in Florida.
Right and I’m in New Mexico.
The health insurance industry has adopted the same model as the auto insurance industry.
Regardless, all of the combined insurance industries have gone to the commercial bank model.
It’s no longer about insurance, and now it’s all about making a profit by leveraging premiums on the open stock market, while screwing over all of the policyholders using any excuse possible.
I would just drop ALL of my insurance policies altogether, BUT, the feds have literally made that illegal, that is if you want to drive or live that is.
The mafia are insanely pissed that they didn’t come up with this racket first.
