The problem with such a declaration and promise is that acting judiciously can be seen as breaking the promise. It may force harsh response to save face. I prefer quiet action instead of grandstanding.

He didn’t use his position and power to change the direction of the growing Nanny State government that has destroyed Florida.

Trump, Carson, Fiorina and maybe, just maybe Cruz are the only ones that even possibly make any change in the status quo. As for the other 12, the changes will only be window dressing for the same old, same old tired crap.
Remember that big change promised in 2010, 2012 and 2014.
What did we get? Same old, same old tired crap.
