Sex workers. I guess they can’t be called prostitutes as that’s judgmental.

In this particular instance (which is very rare) I don’t have a problem with the term “sex worker”. That’s what it is. Unlike most of the language revisions they are forcing on us.

Very interesting, apparently she was just lucky. I read it to see if she was prepared for the possibility that a john would be an attacker, but apparently not.

I take offense at the term “worker”. It is what most people think of as pleasure. Why are they called “workers”?
To: GoneSalt
It wasn’t until 2/3 of the way through the article did I finally understand who was soliciting whom for sex.

My best guess is there is no real pleasure in it for them but the money. Thus, it is a job that requires them to “work”.

The words “prostitutes” and “whores” should be reserved for the gang in D.C.

Well, it doesn’t require intelligence or physical strength so I wouldn’t call it work.
To: GoneSalt
I’m guessing it was a revolver.

"She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more."
John 8:10-11
Maybe Jesus should have held on for a bit someone would have surely came along and not only condemned her, but most likely would have started throwing stones.

Actually, sex worker sounds worse, IMHO. If we had always called them sex workers, switching it to prostitute would sound better....similar to calling a drunk an alcoholic instead.
To: ilovesarah2012
Why are they called workers? I don't imagine there any whores out there doing it for "pleasure". That only happens in the movies.

Liberals control the language. Yup.
"Sex Workers" = prostitute / whore
"Democratic" party = Democrat party
"Gay" = homosexual
"Undocumented Immigrant" or just "Immigrant" = illegal alien
"Common sense" = draconion
Must be a bunch of others...

I take offense at the term worker. It is what most people think of as pleasure. Why are they called workers? I'm an engineer, is it not work simply because I enjoy it?

I'm an engineer, is it not work simply because I enjoy it? I was having a bad day, and my wife said, "That's why they call it work. If it were more fun, they'd call it play."
Congrats on having a fun job! Some engineering jobs don't make that cut.

Crazy story. I hope they can close some cold cases now.
Anyways, there's a safer way to be a sex worker and a method for vetting potential customers. The very entertaining book SuperFreakonomics lays it out pretty well.
