The Kochs freeze out Donald Trump
Politico ^ | 07/29/2015 | Kenneth Vogel and Cate Martel

Posted on 07/29/2015 7:49:44 AM PDT by GIdget2004

Despite a long and cordial relationship between the real estate showman and David Koch, as well as a raft of former Koch operatives who are now running Trump’s presidential campaign, the Koch political operation appears to have concluded that Trump is the wrong standard-bearer for the GOP. And the network of Koch-backed policy and political outfits is using behind-the-scenes influence to challenge Trump more forcefully than the Republican Party establishment — by limiting his access to the support and data that would help him translate his lead in the polls into a sustainable White House campaign.

The Koch operation has spurned entreaties from the Trump campaign to purchase state-of-the-art data and analytics services from a Koch-backed political tech firm called i360, and also turned down a request to allow Trump to speak at an annual grass-roots summit next month in Columbus, Ohio, sponsored by the Koch-backed group Americans for Prosperity, POLITICO has learned.

In addition, Trump was not invited to the annual summer gathering of the network of hundreds of conservative mega-donors and operatives helmed by the billionaire industrialists Charles and David Koch. That’s despite the Trump campaign filling out a questionnaire detailing the candidate’s policy positions and submitting it to Freedom Partners Chamber of Commerce, the Koch umbrella group organizing the summit. The three-day meeting in Orange County, California, will feature appearances from a handful of candidates whose politics reflect more closely the Kochs’ fiscally conservative worldview — including Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, Scott Walker — and even long-shot Carly Fiorina. Rand Paul, who is also fondly regarded by some in the Koch operation, was invited, but he has not accepted and is unlikely to attend.

Now the lib media will find something nice to say about the Kochs. They fund medical research. They might be conservative, but they are responsible and don’t support Trump (unless they support Cruz, and he rises in the polls... /S).

They want someone they can control, and they can’t control Trump.

“...Kochs’ fiscally conservative worldview”

If so they should seriously consider only one candidate, Cruz.

The Koch’s will eventually support the nominee. Right now, Trump doesn’t need the backing or the money. I’m perfectly okay with the Koch’s supporting whomever they want. It’s their right. Celebrate it.

Yes, I believe that the Kochs consider themselves ro be “libertarians”, and support open borders and cheap labor.

Well all that tells me is that maybe Trump is who I really want. The Koch Brothers can’t control him so of course he isn’t their guy. He doesn’t need their money.

“Trump was not invited to the annual summer gathering of the network of hundreds of conservative mega-donors and operatives helmed by the billionaire industrialists Charles and David Koch”

Big deal. the Koch brothers did not invite Trump to one of their parties. The Koch brothers already know Trump very well. They probably wanted to meet people they were not as familiar with.

The MSM is trying to create drama and create the impression that everyone hates Trump.

Donor fight!

I posted this seven days ago:

The irony is that Trump is himself a "big donor." It's just that he's donating to his own campaign. None of these other "big donors" has the nerve to run themselves, they have to hide behind other people.

So it's really a fight between the big donors themselves. But it also shows the other candidates to be puppets of secret behind-the-scenes people. Who wants to vote for a puppet after the puppets out themselves...

Good point. We should always consider the media’s agenda. Even Fox News lately.

LoL. This Politico scribbler hasn't been paying attention. Trump has been running against this gaggle and he surely does not need them.

You talk like there is a shortage of hatred on/from the left. Pffft. Think they’ll run out?

This could actually get rather funny and is an enticing formula. They could become confused about whom they really hate. They could become unhinged as to which hate target should be focused on. It would be like the episode of Star Trek where Mr. Spock comatizes all the duplicate android gals with his illogical poetry. They could go into overhate, they could burn out their hate clutch or their hate linings.

Boy that money stinks don’t it. No kickbacks for the Kochs from Trump is the way it should read.
